Privacy Policy

Heron Binder collects no data about you or your writing. Your writing never leaves the places you choose to keep it.

Your document is a folder of files that you choose: on your Mac, a local server or your preferred cloud service (e.g. iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive). Heron Binder reads and organises the files in that folder on your device. It does not send your writing, or anything about it, to Heron Concepts or to anyone else.

If your folder is in iCloud Drive or another cloud service, that service stores and syncs it under its own privacy policy (for iCloud, Apple’s). If you share the folder with a co-author, they see what you share.

On the Mac, Heron Binder saves backup copies of your document in folders you choose, such as on your Mac or a removable drive. They stay there; they are not uploaded anywhere by Heron Binder.

None. Heron Binder has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts or usage information.

Settings such as which document you opened last and which editor you use are kept on your device only.

The site sets no cookies and has no analytics or advertising. If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are emailed to Heron Concepts so we can reply, and are kept only as long as that conversation needs. They aren’t used for anything else or shared with anyone. The site’s web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security. The pages load their typeface from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when it sends the font.

While Heron Binder is in testing, Apple’s TestFlight app may share crash reports and any feedback you choose to send (including screenshots) with the developer. That is governed by Apple’s TestFlight terms, and you can turn crash sharing off in TestFlight.

Heron Binder collects no data from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
